Get a lawyer for advise but depending upon how much you want to sue for it may be an advantage suing in small claims court. Small claims court allows you to sue up to 10,000 dollars and If you happen to win you won't have to pay lawyer fees.

As for your case, a verbal agreement isjust as strong as ones in writing in a courtvof law. The hard part is proving it. If you can gather all the checks you used to pay for the down payment and all the other fees id say you'd have a strong casePlz help need legal advice!!!?
If you sue, it is going to end up being your word against theirs. They will probably end up winning. Why don't you just try to get your money back from them, or maybe part of it.

This could end up being a big family fight. Try to avoid that.

Good luck.
If there was no written contract, there isn't a thing you can do. You have to have hard-copy proof in a court of law. You are screwed.
Yes sue them Gather all your documentation showing the down payment check, Insurance payment checks and checks for the mortgage. Get a lawyer
looks like someone needs a lawyer
you probably need to sue your parents for the investment you have in the home, your down payment and improvements you made

the insurance essentially is more or less a living expense to you, as possibly the improvements you made, if they made the property more valuable they would be considered but if they were merely improvements for convenience, again they are living expenses

what would you have paid had you been renting that whole time?
