Hello my friend was arrested on Friday 8/7/09 in West Philadelphia. He purchased a firearm in April of 2009 and was carrying this firearm on him in his vehicle on his hip in the holster. He was stopped for a traffic violation and advised the police officer that he had the firearm on him. He also had the receipt and owner documentation with it. At which point he was arrested and posted bail 8/8/09 and was released Saturday night. Bail was issued at 7500 he only had to pay 10%.
What kind of charges is he looking at. Any advice is appreciated he has no criminal record.Philadelphia Gun Charges Legal Advice Please...?

Concealed or open carry without a license - 3rd degree felony.
If he is eligible for a LTCF but just doesn't have one, 1st degree misdemeanor
He needs to make sure the prosecutor is aware that he is eligible for the license to get the reduced charge.
