I need some legal advice for my 15 year old friend in jail right now?

She ran away and then went home. She is addoped by family. when she went home to them he got mad and threw her to the ground outside repetly kept slapping her in the face calling her a ';stupid ******g B**ch'; Then he proceded to call the cops saying that ';she was trying to run away again'; she wasnt trying to he was just rely mad. She has marks on her her leg even got all cut up from a stick or something when her was throwing her on the ground. The cops took her to jail because he was the first one to call.

Is there anything in this that is illegal? Did the cops not do there correct job?

*reminder she is legaly addopted by family.I need some legal advice for my 15 year old friend in jail right now?
Your friend needs to say what happened because if the police had done a proper investigation, they would have discovered that your friend had all the injuries (including defensive) and the adoptive parents had none (shows she was beaten, not attacking). And she needs to have all her injuries treated, photographed, and documented.

Frankly speaking, your friend needs a lawyer to defend her. I doubt her adoptive parents will do anything as they want her ';punished';. Contact legal-aid and see if they can help her. Make sure you tell them that you were a witness. And if that doesn't help, contact your local big newspaper and tell them what happened and ask them what to do. If worse comes to worse, you could always contact Child Protective Services and tell them the whole ugly story and what you are prepared to testify to.

Take care and thanks for being such a good friend!I need some legal advice for my 15 year old friend in jail right now?
Nicole, are you a witness to this? If not a direct witness to the incident did you hear any of the family members say or do anything that might help your friend's case? If so, write it down, and do it carefully, be sure to get who said and did what, as exactly as you can. Contact her public defender / legal advocate with your concerns and any evidence you have. Do not make anything up, it will probably backfire and do more harm than good for your friend.

Good luck
Without having seen it happen myself, I will let the court hear the evidence and make a decision. I have found that one never gets truth from people accused of wrong doing.
You need a new friend, because this one has problems. Do you actually believe anything she says?
