I need legal advice. I live in a foreclosed townhouse and never signed a lease. Do I have any rights?

My roommate and I applied for a lease on a townhouse and paid the first months rent. The current management company informed us the the unit was going into foreclosure and the bank would be taking it over and they would be handling us and not the management company since they had not been paid in months. We never signed a lease, just applied for one, and no one has got in touch with us about rent. We last paid rent to the management company in September, and it's now April. We received a letter that the house will be foreclosed on April 16th. Are we responsible for back rent if we never had a lease? We've had to pay for all the maintenance ourselves (broken fridge, broken dryer, electrical problem) out of our own pockets. Do we have any rights? Should we move immediately? Or stay and possibly negotiate an actual lease? Do we face eviction?I need legal advice. I live in a foreclosed townhouse and never signed a lease. Do I have any rights?
This is probably a legal hassle you don't want to mess with. So, get out of the townhouse. However, even though you did not sign a lease you are liable for back rent if you lived in the house. On the other hand, you can probably have any amount of money offset by the money you put into the house. You can try to do this through negotiations with the new owner or you can do it in court or you can leave. If you did not sign a contract, you can be kicked out.I need legal advice. from what ';I heard' the bank would evict you and give you some move out cash. others say the bank might even try to give you the property.

you should not be responsible for rent if it was not requested.
