My friend Sally came in the shop. I told her to behave herself,if she wanted to muck around do it when Kate was working as i had just started my job there.
I was serving Sally and she asked me if she could look at4 or 5 different packets of cigarettes. I gave them to her and while she was reading the packet i served another customer.
Meanwhile, Kate walked back in the shop and stared down Sally. I **** myself and panicked. (i thought there was going to be a fight.) Sally quickly gave me back the cigarettes and just left.
Anyway 2 days later my boss calls me into the office. Telling me that the Sally had stole a packet of cigarettes i gave her. Anyways i said that was bullshit she was my friend and wouldn't get me in trouble like that. My boss showed me the security video and while i was serving the other customer you can see sally putting a packet in her back but the video wasnt clear enough to me, i though she already had the smokes in her hand when she walked in.
So my boss fired me and they are now refusing to pay me for the hours i work that week. I have tried talking to them but they are blaming me and telling me i stole the smokes. I said if Sally took them, she did. NOT ME. I'm not her mind, i'm not her conscience it has nothing to do with me.
My bosses still wont pay me and they are telling me they are going to have me arrested and charged for theft or attempted theft or something. I'm shitting myself.
I have anxiety and psychosis disorder, im on meds and my boss knew that. When Kate walked in the shop i panicked and my brain stopped working. I kknow it was a stupic mistake, and i offered to pay for the smokes as soon as he showed me the video but it wasnt good enough.
In my heart i honestly didnt do this on purpose. if they call the police will they know that?
i threatened to ring the taxation office if he didnt pay me. (we were all on cash money, no tax)

Relax, you won't be prosecuted.
Second, he has to pay you. File a claim in small claims court. If he tries to file a counter-claim for the pack of cigarettes, he will, at most, get the value of that pack deducted from your pay.
Third, he can fire you for any reason or no reason at all at any time. It doesn't matter if you stole or not.
Most importantly, tell your friend to stop smoking. It is a disgusting habit which makes her unattractive, smelly, and likely to die painfully. That is the only thing here worth stressing over.
