I don't have any legal advise for you. I'm sorry.
However, Credit Consolidation company's are horrible. I'm sorry you chose that route.
If they are suing you(Are you sure they are? see below). You must appear in court. Must must must. Or get a default judgment. Review your contact with Credit Solutions and see if they provide any type of help with this(doubtful)
How old is this debt and when is the last time you made a payment(or received benefit from it). Check your states Statute of Limitations. That is one iron clad way to win a lawsuit.
Now, are they suing you? Did you receive the summons from your local magistrate? That is where they need to sue you at. If this is a letter from the attorney saying they're going to sue you, they very well might, but they might not.(According to the fair debt collections act if they threaten to sue you they must be willing to sue you)I need Legal advice on collection?
Ouch....this is not good. Debt settlement firms are only out to empty $$$ from your pockets....They love to prey on people who are financially vulnerable (read: people who can't fight back).
You cannot ignore this letter. If you cannot confirm that this firm has resolved this situation within four business days, then you need to contact an attorney and respond to this. See link below for more info
Either answer the complaint or get an attorney to do so. If you are fortunate enough in the courtroom the judge might set you up with a payment plan you can handle til the debt is paid, if you don't abide by the court-ordered plan it will probably turn into a judgement. I would then go after the Credit Solutions people in small claims court.
