I Need Legal Advice !!!?

I have this friend who has a boyfriend that was on probation in MO and he had no where to go...he talked to his P.O. about maybe getting transferred to SC, but she said no and told him to go check into a shelter. He tried that and there was no room at the shelter...so...he left and went to SC. He has been in South Carolina for about a year and the warrant finally caught up with him. He was doing really good in SC, he had a job, was working on getting his GED and was not getting into no trouble. He was actually better in SC. They now have to ship him back to MO. Around how much time do you think he will get if he explains his situation and do you think that maybe he could try to join the Army instead of being in prison ??? Please someone help me...thank you !!!I Need Legal Advice !!!?
I work at a courthouse in Louisiana. In most of the probation revocations that I've seen, the defendant is given a chance to explain their actions. The probation officer also gives a list of conditions the defendant has failed to complete. The judge can put them back on probation (but it sounds like he would be back in the same situation) or make them serve the original sentence, often with credit for time served. But it varies by person, judge and probation officer.I Need Legal Advice !!!?
The Army or prison thing doesn't work anymore. The Army doesn't want criminals, and we don't have a draft (forcing people to serve who don't want to). Would you equate joining the Army with doing time?
Try the Army why not...I think he'll get 6 months and then probation again. Good Luck...
He's on his way to Jefferson city.
No room at the shelter so he went to SC?

Yeah, the PO is going to eat that one up. He's going back to jail. He's a criminal. He violated the terms of probation. Missouri is a big place. Not finding room at a shelter is no reason to unilaterally ignore what the PO told him to do. Your boyfriend is going to do two more years...assuming of course he didnt commit any OTHER crimes while he was in SC.

They dont send criminals into the army anymore by the way. He might have a shot at working in Bush's administration for the next year though. Criminals are welcome there.
Most people that will post are going to say negative things about your friend. I think people deserve a second chance but once your're in the system they think another way. The court will say he jumped probation and needs to be held accountable. The fact that he was staying out of trouble may enter into his defense...but it will be up to Mo and the way they view the matter. I hope for the best.
