Friday night I had drank about 8 beers and a friend and I went to McDonalds. While waiting in the drive thru I barely bumped into this trucks bumper. This truck was like an old farm truck and there was no damage whatsoever. The guy was yelling out the window ';Did you just hit me?'; He jumped out of the truck so I drove off. He was chasing me and got my licence plate number.
The guy found out where I live through a friend of his by coincidence. He drove over here while I wasn't home with 3 of friends in case he needed to fight and talked to my mom. He wanted my insurance info. so he could fix his old shitty bumper.
The cops now have a warrant out for me and there wasn't even any damage. I know what I did was wrong but I really want to get out of this without getting in trouble or paying any money. This guy is being a real *** about this situation if you ask me. What should I do?I need legal advice?(pls read if you can help)?
If there's a warrant, turn yourself in. Do not say ANYTHING about what happened since you were driving drunk. You are guilty of leaving the scene of an accident - regardless of why you did it. Next, contact your insurance company and report the incident.
You might consider consulting an attorney about the vehicular charges.I need legal advice?(pls read if you can help)?
There's a warrant out for you?? THEN TURN YOURSELF IN. Do it NOW, before they come and arrest you. You will be able to explain it all to a judge and there will probably not even be a trial. But you have to go and explain this all in person. If you continue to hide out, you're going to be in bad trouble. Be smart. Settle this. Turn yourself in.
hit and run is what you are looking at under the influence of drink.
this will invalidate your insurance.
he has the right to your insurance details.
sorry but they will arrest you for this.
also you did not register the accident within the designated time frame.
you will loose your license and banned for a period of time with a fine or prison term
hum... i don't know .. i have never been in your situation before.. not good that he's accusing you of needing to fix his bumper if you didn't do anything ..
if you honestly can say you DIDN'T do anything.. then it's your word against his!
makes you LOOK guilty because you drove away.. instead of just HANDLING it right there.. I mean.. he's saying you did and you didn't.. soo.. what's the problem..??
i agree with the guy before me though.. if you have a warrant i would turn yourself in.. don't make your life hard or be afraid.. just do the responsible thing!!
sorry you're going through this..but if you didn't do anything. kindly confront and tell him this.. you have NOTHING to hide, right??
okay, you'll be okay, i think.
